Bicycle Ride Raises Awareness and Funds for Young Breast Cancer Survivors
New York, New York, (February 10, 2016) — In less than two weeks, more than 100 people will bicycle through South Florida to raise awareness and support for women under 40 diagnosed with breast cancer. The YSC Tour de Pink South event was created to educate the public that young women can and do get breast cancer, and to provide hope and support to those young women facing it.
From April 15-17, 2016, cyclists will ride for 3 days, 200 miles all for one purpose - to ensure no young woman diagnosed under 40 faces breast cancer alone. From the theme park capital of the world in Orlando to the breathtaking views of Palm Beach, Fla., riders will take part in this exclusive and inaugural three-day event.
Tour de Pink is a fundraising event of Young Survival Coalition (YSC), the premier nonprofit organization dedicated to young women with breast cancer. The funds raised will help educate, empower and connect more than 250,000 women living in the U.S. today who were diagnosed with breast cancer before their 41st birthday.
The largest cycling fundraiser for breast cancer in the country, Tour de Pink creates a rolling community of survivors, family and friends. Together, they raise awareness, offer encouragement and help provide resources and outreach to young women affected by breast cancer.
Details of the three-day, 200-mile ride, including addresses and route descriptions, can be found here. Cheering stations are positioned along the route each day. The public is encouraged to come out and cheer on the riders at the start and finish locations each day, as well as the designated cheer zones listed below.
A brief summary of the route and daily start times:
Day 1-Friday, 4/15: 7:45-8 a.m.

Route: Lake Buena Vista to Melbourne, Florida
Starting at Disney World in Orlando, riders travel to Kissimmee and around Lake Tohopekaliga through protected wetlands. Ending in Melbourne, Florida at the Holiday Inn Melbourne-Viera. Located at 8298 N Wickham Rd. Melbourne, FL 32940.
*The start of the event is an inspiring visual as hundreds of riders pedal for young breast cancer survivors.
Day 2-Saturday, 4/16: 7:15-7:30am.

Route: Melbourne to Port St. Lucie, Florida
Day 2 will feature 80% of the ride on the Coastal Highway along the Atlantic Ocean passing through Vero Beach, Fort Pierce and Jenson Beach. This day will also feature a century option for riders. The finish line will be at the Club Med in Port St Lucie, located at 4500 SE Pine Valley Street, Port St. Lucie, FL 34952.
Day 3-Sunday, 4/17: 8-8:15 a.m.

Route: Port St. Lucie to Jupiter Beach, Florida
Riders will start in Port St. Lucie continuing along the coast passing through towns include Hobe Sound and the fabulous Jupiter Island, then work their way around an inlet to the final destination at Carlin Park on Jupiter Beach, in Palm Beach County.*
*The grand finale celebration at Carlin Park is a great opportunity for media interviews and live footage of riders as they cross the finish line.

Founded in 2004, YSC Tour de Pink was created to raise awareness and funds for Young Survival Coalition (YSC) and is the largest national outdoor cycling effort in the country to support the unique needs of young breast cancer survivors.
